What is the truth about sex?
Sex! It’s everywhere! It seems as though just about every time we turn on the TV or tune into our favorite radio station, there is something grabbing our attention about sex. Whether it’s one of the cast members of MTV's Jersey Shores trying to find someone to bring home after a night at the club, or the Carl’s Jr commercial that entices us to eat one of their burgers while a gorgeous woman is riding a mechanical bull, our ears and eyes capture images and sounds that trigger sexual thoughts.
The media tends to glamorize sex and uses it to sell just about everything. Sex is used to sell movies, clothes to teens, food, automobiles, health and fitness equipment, and many other items.
But what is sex really? Well, the original plan for sex was to procreate new life. It’s evident in the way our bodies were designed. A sperm finds its way to an egg and BAM, a new life begins and prepares for it’s entrance into the world nine months later.
Sex was also created to be an intimate expression of love between two people in a committed marriage relationship. There is actually a chemical in our brain that is released when two people touch each other in an intimate way. It is called oxytocin.
This chemical is known to produce a feeling of bonding and trust. It is released through sexual stimulation. This chemical is also found to flood the brain during the onset of labor in a pregnant woman or during breastfeeding.
So needless to say, if sex is approached in any other manner, there can be some very devastating consequences. The consequences include unplanned pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases. It also can result in a depressed state of mind.
